The Apocalypse is the only scroll/book in the entire Bible that is said to be directly from Yeshua (Revelation 1:1), endorsed by Yeshua (Revelation 22:16), and that promises a blessing to those who read, hear, and obey the writings (Revelation 1:3). In the Apocalypse are the words of Yeshua concerning two witnesses who are coming: “I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth.” In context these two OT men arrive as “witnesses” during a new and soon coming “Temple Era.” A Temple will be the epicenter of the Jewish (and Gentile) world in the days ahead. A Temple will be built in Jerusalem (Revelation 11:1,2) and that Temple will be desolated as prophesied by Yeshua in Matthew 24:15, just as the OT Temple was desolated by Antiochus IV. In concert with the desolation, “two witnesses” will prophesy for exactly 1,260 days, or 42 thirty-day months (biblical months are from Genesis to Revelation thirty days), or exactly three and one-half years.
The ministry of these “two witnesses” will be during the first half of the 7-year Great Tribulation period, and according to the holy scriptures after the 1,260 days or 3 ½ years, they will preach no more. Clearly, from knowing the Word these two witnesses are Moshe and Eliyah. It was Eliyah who had power to shut heaven from rain (I Kings 17:1) and Moshe had power to turn waters to blood (Exodus 7:20). These two men also appeared with Yeshua on the Mount of Transfiguration, and Kefa/Peter wanted to build a temple for all three (Matthew 17:3). Yeshua, the author of the Apocalypse wants His reader to have clues to “who’s who” in the last days. He gave us the clue of the number of his [the antichrist] name, so we can identify the antichrist (Revelation 13:17,18). Yeshua wants the readers to identify His reference of Moshe and Eliyah, also.
For three and one-half years these two visitors from heaven are invincible. Dressed in sackcloth as mourners in distress, they prophesy among Israelis. No one can touch them (Revelation 11:5) and they ‘target’ the Jews with their message! This is why their manifestation of powers are nexus to OT events concerning Israel; the miracle of shutting the heavens from rain, and turning waters to blood (Revelation 11:6). If the Jews in the last days have read the written and living Word of God, they may recognize the two witnesses by their biblical powers, and also remember the account of Yeshua having the same two witnesses with Him on the Mount of Transfiguration. Many will believe and be saved due to their witness, but the majority of Israel will not believe.
After their assigned period of preaching for 3 ½ years, the antichrist is permitted to kill the two witnesses (Revelation 11:7), and their bodies will lie in the street of Jerusalem for 3 ½ days, in the city where they ministered and were murdered. Jerusalem will be so nasty that Yeshua labeled it “Sodom,” and so rebellious against God’s manifestation of miracles, that Jerusalem is labeled, “Egypt” (Revelation 11:8).
Jerusalem and the entire world will be very happy that Moshe and Eliyah are murdered and their teaching silenced, and they will not allow their bodies burial. The general reaction of the entire world when the world Czar, the Antichrist silences the preaching of God’s Word by murdering these two men of God, is thanksgiving, and a holiday is proclaimed and gifts are given (Revelation 11:10).
After the 3 1/2 days, Moshe and Eliyah lying in the street of Jerusalem will resurrect and ascend back to heaven in accord with an earthquake that will kill 1/10th of Jerusalem (Revelation 11:13). Today, that would be 95,000 Jerusalemites. Then, the third woe is unleashed! Oy Vey!
How is the coming of Moshe and Eliyah to Jerusalem relevant? A Jew cannot think of Moshe without remembering how he shepherded Israel to the promised land; he was the deliverer of the remnant. As for Eliyah Jews remember his contesting the Baals in the land of Israel. He was a prophet of judgment and reform.
My former pastor, Dr. Hugh van Eaton once reminded me, when we preach, teach, write, sing, or give the Word, we are telling someone about their salvation or their judgment. Everyone must hear the message!
CMI is challenging modern Israel and the Jews of our world with a choice! (1) The message of Yeshua, the Prophet like unto Moshe (Deuteronomy 18:15) and His New Covenant is the Gospel! Or, (2) the alternative choice of believing anti-Yeshua “rabbis” and their oral traditions written in the Talmud, which is the same as worship of Baal! It is a contest of Baal and YHWH again!
Yeshua is YHWH’s only way, truth, and life. All other faiths and religions are Baal! Modern Israel needs Eliyah to challenge their Judaism(s) a Judaism that is leading Jewish people away from Yeshua! Eliyah and Moshe are coming and will soon appear to do just that!
